Grading & Belt Promotion
Path to Blue Belt
For adults the first belt promotion will earning the Blue Belt. Although it is the first belt an adult will earn it is not an easy one. The path to Blue Belt is a long one where dedication and discipline are necessary and hundreds of hours of mat time is required.
Here at 610 Jiu Jitsu Academy we have made a system for training and testing for your Blue Belt. Although the time will be long and hard fought we hope to ease the struggles of making that important step from "beginner" to Blue Belt. We have done so by standardizing the fundamentals required for building a strong understanding of the Jiu Jitsu "basics." This has helped our beginner students understand their Jiu Jitsu as a whole. Seeing the bigger picture helps everyone connect the dots and train efficiently on their path to Black Belt.
The 'Fundamental 50' are the fifty techniques required to achieve your Blue Belt. The list is posted at the Academy and our training generally focuses on mastery of these basic techniques.
After earning your fourth stripe as a White Belt and when your Professor deems you ready, you will be invited to test for your Blue Belt; where you must show proficiency with the fundamentals as well as a clear understanding of the Academies code of Ethics.
